American Revolution Two

America is engaged in an epic, two front war – the outcome of which will decide the fate of freedom and liberty for generations of people around the world. Are you fighting on either front? Or are you just a bystander? The American people and our freedom loving allies are all that stand in the way from total collapse and an unprecedented plunge into darkness.

On one front, we’re slowly sobering up to a 1,400 year civilizational war being waged by the supremacist political ideology of radical Islam. This is a war that is difficult to grasp in terms of its massive scale – both past and present. Entire nations and cultures have been wiped out by this war – Afghanistan, once a peaceful, Buddhist nation; Turkey, once Buddhist and Christian, Pakistan, once part of a peaceful Hindu nation, Coptic Egypt and the Zorastrians of Persia (Iran) and on and on goes the whitewashed history of Islamic conquest. Over the course of this 1,400 year siege, approximately 270 million people have perished  by way of Jihad along with 25 million more enslaved (Center for the Study of Political Islam). These are shocking numbers that we must come to grips with if we have any chance of halting this conquest. This enemy has already infiltrated every part of our society and keeps telling us what they intend to do. Consider the statement by Co-founder of CAIR (Council of American-Islamic Relations) Omar Ahmad, who told a Muslim audience in California, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.”

The other front is just as dangerous and destructive. It is the insidious march of Leftist ideology known by numerous monikers including progressive, liberalism, socialism, statism, Marxism, communism, and totalitarianism. No matter the ‘ism, they all seek freedom-killing centralized power and control, and to ultimately replace God with government. This Leftist assault, barely a century old here in America, is on the verge of pushing us off a cliff into an abyss of moral, economic, and civil depravity. As up and coming U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan recently stated, “We are creating a European style, cradle to grave socialist welfare state.” And this expanding welfare state will sound the chilling toll of our death knell if we don’t pull a complete 180 on this road to serfdom.

Having discussed the fallout from these two battle fronts at length in this forum before, I will close with a provocative challenge: If you aren’t engaged on either of these fronts in some way, what are you waiting for? Have you considered the consequences of your inaction? My cold water in the face to you today is that whatever you’re doing in your spare time now will vanish or be meaningless unless we win on both of these fronts. What will you tell your children and grand children someday when they ask, “What did you do to stop this?” I hope and pray that the question will actually be “What role did you play in that massive struggle that nearly cost us everything?” Regardless of the outcome, your answer must be, “I did everything that I possibly could.” What will your legacy be when the pages of our history are turned and read aloud to our posterity?

Don’t be a bystander. Jettison the trivial and engage in at least one front now:

Are you a thief? Or are you being robbed? Sorry, you must choose one or the other. Depending on where you stand economically, you are either stealing from your fellow citizens, or you are being robbed by them. This is the appalling effect of our hyper progressive tax system. It is a system of massive income redistribution that is nothing more than legalized theft. And money is not the only thing being stolen through this dehumanizing and immoral scheme.

Dignity, self respect, self worth, a yearning to become all you can be, self reliance, taking hold of God’s purpose for your life, generosity, service to others and personal relationships are just a few things stolen from BOTH sides with this unconstitutional tax system.

A few insane aspects of how this plays out:

• 47% of Americans pay no Federal Income Tax and many of them now actually receive income redistributed through various tax credits
• 73% of Federal taxes are paid by the top 10% of wage earners
• It takes over three months of work for Americans to earn enough to pay the nation’s tax bill for the year
• Since the inception of the income tax in 1913, the number of pages of tax code, regulations, and IRS rulings that individuals and businesses must comply with has grown from 400 pages to a whopping 70,320. (Fairtax.org)
• In 2005, individuals, businesses, and non-profits spent an estimated six billion hours complying with the federal income tax code at an estimated cost of over $265.1 billion. This amounts to imposing a 22.2-cent tax compliance surcharge for every dollar the income tax system collects (The Tax Foundation).
• Each child born today automatically inherits over $30,000 worth of tax debt.
• We now have an astronomical $76 TRILLION of unfunded promises to the American people. (General Accountability Office via Rep. Paul Ryan). In other words, this is the amount of tax revenue it would take to pay for all of the current entitlements promised by our government.

All of this represents an unprecedented assault on every citizen’s liberty and freedom. Here is our current path: legalized theft, generational theft, and then…total collapse.

In order to prevent this collapse, we must start having the right conversation. It goes far beyond the level of taxation and spending. The conversation must start and end with the Constitution and what it says about the proper role of government. We must have a fundamental restoration of the proper and legally permitted functions of government as prescribed by the enumerated powers of the Constitution, found in Article I, Section 8, and the subsequent Bill of Rights. Unless we scale back the size and scope of the federal government from most of what it now controls, regulates and funds – we simply will not survive as a nation. Most of what the federal government does today is outside of its legal authority to do, and that is why we’re in this mess. The triumph of socialism in this country has brought us to the brink.

We cannot tax ourselves out of debt or into prosperity. It is impossible. What’s not impossible is riding a wave of tax revolt and nation wide revolution to restore the government to its originally designed purpose – as the protector of our God given rights and liberties. The man in the White House posing as our president is intentionally destroying the United States of America. The evidence is irrefutable. There is no other way to interpret the irrational and entirely reckless decisions he makes on a daily basis. It is long past time to call a spade a spade. The writing is on the wall – he despises this country with a seething animosity and believes we must be leveled to third world status. He is the apex of arrogance driven by a core belief in radical Marxism. This is not a mean spirited attack, it is cold, hard fact.

Don’t believe it yet? Karl Marx (author of the infamous Communist Manifesto) said you had to gain control of what he called the “commanding heights of the economy” – the healthcare system, the banking system, and the large manufacturing enterprises. The chilling reality is, that is exactly what Obama has done.

Need more evidence? Which of the following actions can possibly be reconciled with traditional American values? Or help to solve our problems or meet our challenges?

• Extending constitutional rights to foreign terrorists, while attempting to close down Guantanamo Bay and hold civilian trials for those who murdered 3,000 Americans on our soil.
• Surrounding himself with cabinet members who have the lowest collective level of experience in the private sector at 9%, including tax cheats and self-avowed communists.
• Spending $20 million (of OUR money) to immigrate terrorist group Hamas refugees to our country.
• Rescinding executive orders protecting the unborn and  preventing the use of taxpayer money to fund abortions around the world
• His taking the national debt – which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate – and tripling it in less than a year
• His appointment of an incompetent, anti-constitutionalist to the Supreme Court
• His glad handing of enemies like communist dictators Hugo Chavez and Daniel Ortega
• Taking over car companies, the financial sector, the banks, and now 1/6 of our economy by ramming through socialized medicine against the will of the American people
• Bullying private citizens (Joe the Plumber, AIG employees) & taunting CEOs
• Canceling our National Day of Prayer, refusing to allow our ships to fly our flag in Haiti, and never using the words “freedom” “growth” or “prosperity.”
• Insulting our allies (Great Britain, Israel) with insulting gifts, childish behavior and breaking our treaties (Missile Defense -Poland, NAFTA – Mexico).
• Stating that America is not a Christian nation, but one of the largest Muslim nations
• Conducting a world apology tour, apologizing for “American arrogance” in Strasbourg, France – a country where nearly 10,000 American servicemen and woman are buried at Normandy American cemetery alone.
• Announcing that the U.S. will not retaliate with nuclear weapons against any non-nuclear country—even if that country hits us with a devastating biological or chemical weapons attack.
• Banning characterizations such as “jihad” and “Islamic extremism” from our national security strategy
• Banning College internships, but only in the free market economy (read about it here)

Okay, I’m out of time and space! The above is just a fraction of what this administration has thus far done.

Now consider the fact that Obama is a disciple of Communist organizer Saul Alinksky who wrote the infamous book “Rules for Radicals.” In the book’s introduction, Alinsky wrote, “What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be…Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away.”

He then said “the mass of the people must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution.”

It’s out in the open – he’s showing us every day what his real intentions are. We’ve got to stop listening to what he says and watch what he’s doing.

After wrestling with this sickening reality day after day (how could this be happening to America?), I have concluded that while calling our reps, writing letters to the editor, attending tea parties, sending emails and all of the stuff we’re doing is important…the only thing that will stop this train wreck and get us back on track is to elect citizen legislators who have a deep conviction about restoring America to a Constitutional republic based on the rule of law. This must be our sole focus. We’ve got to work harder than ever to replace those in power who share this radical goal of transforming America to something she was never intended to be. Find authentic conservative candidates and work hard to get them elected, period.

In closing, consider the way Alinsky dedicated his book, Rules for Radicals, writing, “To the very first radical…who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom – Lucifer.”

Sobered up yet?

Jesus’ victory over death came with a tremendous price that few of us can fathom. His suffering was dreadful and almost unspeakable, but His victory is the greatest hope we have, and Christians celebrate that hard-won freedom this weekend.

Is the price to maintain our nation’s freedom too high?

Free nations do not crumble like a building in an earthquake. They erode away, bit by bit, over time. Those not paying attention can miss it. Yet, even in the face of dramatic erosion, too many remain in slumber. Despite all of the glaring recklessness and unconstitutional developments of late, I still don’t think enough Americans realize how truly close we are to losing it all. This once unsinkable ship is taking on water like never before and we’ve got people up on the deck listening gleefully to the string quartet.

The price that must be paid to save the ship and maneuver a 180 seems impossibly high. And for good reason: There’s no way to quantify the sacrifice it’s going to take to undo the damage done by the Left since the progressive movement began in the early 20th century. For nearly 100 years now, the false ideologies of the Left (secular humanism, liberalism, socialism, communism) have eaten away at the heart of what makes us unique among the nations of history. And now, it has reached the breaking point.

For the millions of Americas who are aware, the weight of these outrageous developments is overwhelming. The collective toll on our liberty is significant, and so the price to win back what we’ve lost will be that much greater. Thus the concern…is the price too high?

Do enough Americans have what it takes to pay the price to win back our nation? We  need a victory that delivers genuine security, prosperity and freedom for our future. But do we understand the cost, and will we pay it?

As we celebrate the risen Christ this Easter Sunday, my prayers will be focused on our nation to that end. I have faith that the God who oversaw the birth and adolescence of this once God-centered nation, will usher us with His  “protection of divine providence.” But don’t miss this!…The key is our firm reliance on Him. The price is high, but the victory is ours to be won!

“…And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”
- So pledged the 56 patriots who counted the cost of freedom and then paid it in full.

“It is finished” – Christ, after counting the cost of our freedom and paying it in full.
